Health Advisors Warn Of Vitamin D Deficiency

Health advisors are concerned that Britons are not getting enough vitamin D and are advising people to boost their intake with supplements. Though the recent sunny weather we have been experiencing has provided us with plenty of sunlight, a startling report shows that even in the sunny United Arab Emirates state, healthy adolescents have a vitamin D deficiency.

Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency is now a global public-health problem affecting an estimated 1 billion people worldwide.

What Do The Health Experts Say?

Experts are saying that sunlight and natural food sources alone are “not enough to boost levels”. The Scientific Advisory Committee on Nutrition (SACN) group advises the government on health concerns and have only very recently proposed a “dietary intake of 10 micrograms of vitamin per day for everyone aged over one year”.

What Are The Levels Of Deficiency?

Mild To Moderate

Increases the risk of Osteoporosis which causes bone pain, weakening of the bones and increases the risk of fractures.

Moderate To Severe

Doubles the risk of some forms of dementia including Alzheimer’s disease in older adults.

Severe

Leads to the development of rickets in children which is a condition that affects bone development as bones become soft and weak leading to bone deformities.

Leads to the development of Osteomalacia in adults which is also a condition that softens the bones but it also causes bone pain and muscle weakness.

Deteriorating Conditions Caused By A Lack Of Vitamin D

Prostate Cancer

In the U.S, Clinical Cancer Research found a link between low blood levels of Vitamin D and aggressive prostate cancer in European-American and African-American men.

Erectile Dysfunction

A 2014 study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine concluded that men with severe erectile dysfunction had significantly lower vitamin D levels than men with mild erectile dysfunction.

Schizophrenia

In a 2014 study published by the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, experts found that those who are vitamin D deficient are twice as likely to be diagnosed with schizophrenia than those with sufficient vitamin D levels.

Heart Disease

Researchers at the American College of Cardiology discovered a link between vitamin D deficiency and severe cases of heart disease. Over 70 percent of patients undergoing coronary angiography had a vitamin D deficiency.

Body By Nature has been aware of this growing epidemic for quite some time now, however, now that media reports are covering this subject and health advisors to the government are taking serious action to combat this growing epidemic, we will be continuing our reports to help raise awareness on a health concern not many everyday people are aware of.

Body by nature supplements have designed and brought to market one of the cleanest, safest and purest forms of Vitamin D3. Our in house design team came up with a 10’000iu tablet. By having a tablet form verses a liquid form, you don’t need all those fillers or bulkers to stabilise the ingredients. Some people can be very sensitive to these added nasties and become quite ill. We at body by nature have the heath of our customers at the top of our list far behind making a cheap inferior product just to make more money.
