Body by Nature’s Packaging and Recycling
The world has been on a difficult journey to heal the planet by adopting various diverse measures, from recycling single-use plastics, reducing carbon emissions by cycling, using electric cars to advocating for new modes of fuel. We at Body by Nature Supplements have not been left behind in our efforts to go green. In 2011, we packaged our high-quality supplements in plastic containers but by 2016, in a bid to be an eco-friendly vitamin packing company, we launched our ‘Eco pip packs’ that provided additional space, increasing the quantity of supplements that our customers could order. This move saw us receive a variety of complaints from customers, due to our packaging’s design that could be confused for electrical products.
Getting the right Zero Waste Vitamin Non-Plastic Packaging
Our team went back to the drawing board to find the best material for our packaging. Financially, plastic containers may seem cheap but are rather expensive in the long run for both the company and the planet. This is because they are not biodegradable and as such contribute to pollution, rising carbon dioxide levels and global warming. As a team, we have favoured using zero waste vitamin non-plastic packaging. This to us is the most suitable option as it is a material that has already been recycled and repurposed for a variety of needs, making it sustainable. Sustainability is important in a business as it means consistency and quality for our consumers who we aim to care for.
Plastic-free vegan vitamins and supplements are a great and healthy favorite of our consumers, as this option ensures that the products our clients receive are in an environmentally friendly package which has both our team and consumers feeling proud of being associated with our products. Customer satisfaction goes a long way in ensuring that as a business we continue to grow. The scientific research on the effects of single-use plastics go a long way in informing our choices on vitamins without plastic packaging and also guide us on additional things we can do to ensure that our packaging is bio-degradable.
Our teams both in-house and on the field have taken it upon themselves to reduce their use of single plastics by recycling, looking into other materials to use such as glass, cardboard, and steel. This has caused a ripple effect as we have contacted all our suppliers and partners on our choice to stop the use of single plastics and instead use sustainable materials. By ensuring that our suppliers know our stand on sustainable products, we can provide our customers with high-quality eco-friendly vitamin packaging. Our efforts have also trickled to our customers as they now to are engaged in the fight to protect the planet by supporting us.
While we are actively working towards recycling and making more Eco-friendly packaging choices, breaking from single-use plastics is a constant struggle and as a company, we will endeavor to keep looking into our habits on how we handle plastics and waste in general. We promise to be consistent and persistent in self-analysis and make the right decisions in providing the best quality vitamins and supplements in plastic-free packaging.
