As a mother, I like to know that my child is healthy. As the mother of an 8-year-old boy, that is not always possible. In fact, I have had my fair share of scares because he has eaten or touched one thing or the other that he should not have. The most memorable experience came about a month after David turned eight.
I noticed that there was a problem after David complained of some bowel problems for two days. It is typical of him to keep his problems to himself until it gets bad, so I concluded it must be serious in this case. When I noticed that he had started bloating and complaining of abdominal discomfort, I made an appointment with a doctor. It is a good thing I did, because the next day, as I was preparing to take David to the hospital, he suffered a bout of diarrhoea. He was checked out by a doctor who explained several things to me.
First of all, what David was suffering from was an intestinal infection made worse by the fact that he was sick. The infection was causing the bloating and discomfort. What I concluded from what he said was that David’s bacterial imbalance was causing his symptoms as would have to be corrected. David’s doctor prescribed antibiotics to help treat the condition. He also recommended giving David vegan supplements by a reputable company to help speed up the healing process.
I like my kid healthy so I followed the doctor’s instruction. I got onto the vitamin supplements company’s website and ordered a bottle of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium Multivitamin vegan supplements. I honestly did not understand what all those words meant, but from what I got from the doctor, the vitamin supplements were supposed to ‘correct’ the infection.
The body has good and bad bacteria, and the infection was caused by the bad bacteria overrunning the good bacteria. The supplements would correct that imbalance and allow David to get back to playing with his friends. I just had to be careful with the dosages. Since David was on antibiotics twice a day, I gave him the vegan supplements about at lunchtime and two hours before his dinner. He took the antibiotics with his breakfast and after his dinner.
David started feeling better within a week of being on the antibiotics. He said that his tummy did not hurt as much. I also noticed that the bloating had gone down. Within another week David was back on his feet and playing with his age mates. I am usually careful with what medication I give David, and I was glad that the recommendation for Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium Multivitamin had lived up to its promise. David no longer takes the vegan supplements, but during the three weeks that he did, they helped.
I now but multivitamins for both of us from Body by Nature. Buying vitamin supplements from this company is the best investment I have ever made. I would recommend this brand to anyone looking for high-quality, economical supplements.
