As a forty-three-year-old man, living healthily is a must. I want to live for as long as I can, and I want optimal performance from myself during that time. It is why I chose to become vegan – to get rid of my unhealthy feeding habits. Most people think being vegan is all about preserving skin, saving animals’ lives and simply choosing to be different. Being vegan is a personal choice I made in my quest to lead a longer, healthier life. It was part of a plan I had.
I gave up smoking three years ago. I quit eating meats and dairy products to support this transition. By giving it all up, I made a drastic change that helped me move closer to living healthier. I even took up biking. Jogging and running was a little tricky for me especially when the cold rolled in so I opted for indoor stationary biking and weight-lifting. All these changes helped me take control of my health. I own a small enterprise; in my mind, all these changes would give me the time I needed to make it a larger one, one I could pass on to my children as part of my estate.
Part of a Healthier Lifestyle
Exercising and eating healthily were only part of how I turned my life around. After taking advice from my coach, I also began starting my days with a few hours of meditation. Balancing between personal and professional life is important, my coach told me, and I had to keep my body and mind healthy if I wanted to achieve my goals.
I started taking vitamin supplements soon after taking up veganism. The supplements would help me keep my mind and body at optimal levels for performance. After a bit of research on the internet, I settled on the vegan supplements by this company because they complemented my new lifestyle. When I turned vegan, I did not realize that the vegan lifestyle was widespread. Over time, I came to learn about vegan recipes, cookbooks, microwave-ready meals and eventually supplements. The idea of vegan supplements surprised me. It also made me feel better because I knew I would be sticking to my healthy all-plant, healthy meals.
I chose the High Potency Anti-oxidant because the company advertised it as a perfect complement to fruits and vegetables. The components of the supplements would help my body fight free radicals with about three times as much efficiency as fruits and vegetables. I wanted to put that to the test.
When I got my first bottle, my first thought was that such small capsules could not possibly hold the blueberry, ginger, green tea among other extracts. I believed that when within weeks of taking the vitamin supplements, I felt vibrant. I used to get the flu within days of being in cold weather. It took me longer periods of exposure to get sick this time around. Additionally, the illness did not last long. Whatever else these vitamin supplements did I am not sure, but at least I noticed that little improvement.
