The 38-year-old ninth seed made a sluggish start to the contest and her body language in the first set contradicted her frustration. Bertens remained calm and composed, closing out the set with an ace. Williams in due course attained some rhythm in the second set as the two traded breaks twice. Bertens missed a chance to serve out for the match at 5-4 up. This was followed by a tie-break where William won two mini breaks to have a 6-2 advantage over Bertens; however, she missed her winning chance to close the set. In the thirds set, the two exchanged early breaks before Bertens missed two break points in the eighth game. Williams managed to save two match break points on deuce at 7-6 down; however, she ended up striking a return low into the net, handing Bertens the win in 2 hours 40 minutes.<\/p>\n Serena Williams made quite the comeback in a proper win over France\u2019s Kristina Mladenovic. The 23-time Grand Slam champion had a child, and this made her comeback and win that much more impressive. Her win advanced her to the Wimbledon fourth round. Many women’s seeds have already left the tournament, but the stars are aligning for Serena. Next, she will face fellow mom and world number 120, Russia\u2019s Evgeniya Rodina.
