When I started showing signs of an enlarged prostate, I checked with my doctor to ensure my condition was not serious. Going to the bathroom every five minutes did not appeal to me, and neither did the idea that I might have prostate cancer, so I went for my exam. Thankfully, the results showed that I was simply suffering from BPH.<\/p>\n

BPH is the medical term for the condition of having an enlarged prostate. Its symptoms usually present as the regular need to pee and painful urination. Personally, I had suffered through the first sign but not the second. I was lucky, however. My doctor remarked that I could as well have suffered the other symptoms of BPH, which include a weak urine system, dribbling after you finish peeing and the urgent need to pee. However, there was still a need for me to deal with my BPH.<\/p>\n
An Alternative to Medication<\/strong><\/p>\n By then, I had not learnt about taking vitamin supplements <\/strong>to treat the condition. I was just happy to alleviate the symptoms I had been suffering at the time. With the guidance of my doctor, I got and started following a regime of taking BPH medications. There was just one drawback to these drugs \u2013 they had serious side effects.<\/p>\n One moment I would be walking the next I would be clutching the nearest object or person to prevent falling during a dizzy spell. I never fainted but I remember getting pretty close to that a couple of times. I almost always had a headache when on the medication and as if that was not enough, I felt weak and fatigued most of the time. Let\u2019s just say it was not a fun way to live and leave it at that.<\/p>\n
