Obviously we can’t go into detail on our Japanese drone as things might slip, blueprints can get discovered and before you know it the biggest company’s in Britain have taken our concept but changed the name.<\/p>\n

As our readers\u00a0have been sending loads of letters asking about the drone, whether they can buy one and if they can get a private one for their deliveries, we’ve noticed some letters weren’t sent from the UK. We got a couple from France, quite a few from Germany (a country at the forefront of modern vehicle technology) and a few from Sweden who initially believed\u00a0we could fly drones from our warehouse to their house.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately at the moment we can only deliver to UK based customers via our BEDS drone, however, the sky really is the limit on these\u00a0nifty\u00a0devices. Due to strong interest from the Royal Mail, we have begun\u00a0to take the drone campaigns seriously as our Japanese partners have discussed with us in great length about how the BEDS has the potential to launch from the UK and to\u00a0overseas into Europe.<\/p>\n
One such challenge we had to overcome, which required lengthy meetings to and from Sendai Japan, was the weather. No matter how advanced technology gets, it still can’t beat Mother Nature. Strong winds, heavy rains and hailstones are the biggest worry’s we have when flying the drone at high altitudes.<\/p>\n
It’s very possible to fly the drone at low altitudes but due to our slow, inefficient operators\u00a0(who are still getting to grips with the remote controls) they can’t react quickly enough to\u00a0manoeuvre<\/span>\u00a0around trees, wires, poles, lampposts and birds. Rest assured the operators are very capable of flying at high altitudes but the drone isn’t able to withstand strong weather at the moment.<\/p>\n The drone is so silent that even the birds don’t notice until its within 10 metres. The drones visibility range is between 200-400 metres, depending on how clear the day is, and it has a zoom of an extra 5 metres used for placing the delivery on the doorstep, in the mailbox or even in the\u00a0customers hands.<\/p>\n Each of the 4\u00a0plastic blades are enclosed in a plastic case so as to prevent injury when delivering directly to the customer.
