The heat reacts with the chemicals<br \/>\nin the plastic of the bottle which releases dioxin into the water.<br \/>\nDioxin is a toxin increasingly found in breast cancer tissue. So please<br \/>\nbe careful and do not drink bottled water that has been left in a car.<\/p>\n<p>Pass this on to all the women in your life. This information is the kind<br \/>\nwe need to know that just might save us! Use a stainless steel canteen<br \/>\nor a glass bottle instead of plastic!<\/p>\n<p>This information is also being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical<br \/>\nCenter \u2026 No plastic containers in microwaves. No plastic water<br \/>\nbottles in freezers. No plastic wrap in microwaves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dioxin chemical causes cancer, especially breast cancer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #222222;\"><span class=\"text_exposed_show\" style=\"color: #333333;\">Dioxins are highly poisonous to cells in our bodies. Don\u2019t freeze plastic bottles with water<br \/>\nin them as this releases\u00a0<strong>dioxins<\/strong>\u00a0from the plastic. Recently the Wellness<br \/>\nProgram Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain<br \/>\nthis health hazard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we<br \/>\nshould not be heating food in the microwave using plastic containers\u2026..<br \/>\nThis especially applies to foods that contain fat.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the combination of fat, high heat and\u00a0<strong>plastic<\/strong>\u00a0releases dioxin<br \/>\ninto the food.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Pyrex or ceramiccontainers<br \/>\nfor heating food\u2026 You get the same result, but without the dioxin.. So,<br \/>\nsuch things as TV dinners, instant soups, etc., should be removed from<br \/>\ntheir\u00a0<strong>containers<\/strong>\u00a0and heated in something else.<\/p>\n<p>Paper isn\u2019t bad but you don\u2019t know what is in the paper. It\u2019s safer to<br \/>\nuse tempered glass, such as Pyrex, etc.<\/p>\n<p>He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants<br \/>\nmoved away from the styrene foam containers to paper. The dioxin<br \/>\nproblem is one of the reasons\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Cling film, is just as<br \/>\ndangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the\u00a0<strong>microwave.<\/strong><br \/>\nAs the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually<br \/>\nmelt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food.
